Sometimes we need it when following our dreams, or when deciding to make a positive change personally or in our communities.

In my mind, there's always room for encouragement, especially when we attempt to quit some of our bad habits (we all have those).

Other times, we seek encouragement from our family and friends when deciding to embark on a new goal or direction.

This could be as simple as needing a little bit of a push to exercise, or as stressful as choosing to begin a new career.

Well, I hope these verses encourage you and the people in your life.

You may also wish to read/share these encouragement quotes. They're filled with positive words and phrases.

Drive

Something about you that I truly admire,

Words from your mouth often inspire.

Glass is half-full, you clearly see,

Your positivity brings joy to me.

You're a combination of special and rare,

So many talents, with the world you may share.

Just the way you make others feel,

Is so wonderful, it's simply so real.

Wherever you go, whatever you seek,

I know you will conquer, no matter the peak.

By the look in your eyes, I can sense your drive,

I'm so happy, I know you will thrive.

The next encouragement poem may be shared with someone that is starting something new, and just needs a little bit of encouragement.

They may be beginning a new job, business, school, or just starting something they passionately believe in and following their dreams.

The last thing a person in that situation wants to hear is …. "you can't do it!"

I know that whenever someone tells me that I can't do something or that one of my ideas won't work before I even try, I get really motivated to prove this person wrong.

Day by Day

You can do it, I know you can,

I trust and believe in your plan.

It has been processed in your mind,

The ideal path, you shall find.

It's clear that you have what it takes,

You simply won't need any brakes.

Since you have so much passion inside,

This dream of yours will be a special ride.

You can do it, I know you can,

I'm your first and biggest fan.

One more thing I'd like to say,

Enjoy the journey - day by day.

Short Encouragement Poem

Here's a few short encouragement poems that are short enough for you to even text someone. They are perfect if you'd like to inspire or encourage someone you know very randomly, as the person goes about their everyday tasks.

Recently, I found a blog where a truly inspirational lady (Colleen) writes about her life experiences.

Just like the above poem, Colleen never gives up and lives life to the fullest.

I read a few of her posts, and became really touched by her stories. This inspired me to write the following poem about Colleen.

The next encouragement poem could be shared with someone that has worked very hard to accomplish something, but still needs some encouragement or appreciation.

There are many things you routinely do,

Where your competition is very few.

Sweat and years, you had to suffer,

We always knew, you were tougher.

Every obstacle you managed to defeat,

Share your journey's through a Tweet!

Poems of Encouragement for a Friend

Sometimes, a close friend may need a poem of encouragement (depending on their specific situation). The first poem will help you tell your friend that you are here for him or her and that you will help. This will provide your friend a boost of confidence and reassurance.

Wonderful Friend

You're a truly wonderful friend,

A short message I would like to send.

Over time, I did observe,

In this life, many things you deserve.

I'm not simply trying to flatter,

Mistakes from the past don't really matter.

You just need to look ahead,

Love from your heart, continue to spread.

I know everything will be alright,

Since we're a team in this fight.

So remember, you're not alone,

Right next to you, there's your mental clone.

This one is a bit funny, and once again will reassure your friends that you will be there for them.

Perplex

I believe in what you think,

There's no need to see a shrink.

We're all trying to find our way,

Don't you worry, it's Okay.

Years ago, they told us to dream,

Nothing wrong, if you wish to scream.

You always wanted to be a dancer,

I just don't have the answer.

Your unique mind, I do understand,

Next to you, here I stand.

We'll deal with whatever happens next,

Even if it's real perplex.

Poem of Encouragement and Strength

This encouragement poem should be shared with really special individuals that do a lot in your life and in their communities. I actually shared it with my Mom, because she has so much strength, and has always been my inspiration. I still don't know how she manages to do everything that she does on a daily basis.

Strength

Your amazing strength comes from deep inside,

How you do it, you should write a guide.

Your words and actions always inspire,

The way you do it, I truly admire.

When I look at you, I'm very proud,

Not afraid to proclaim aloud.

Every challenge that you face,

You manage it, with so much grace.

This strength of yours often amazes,

You deserve more than just praises.

With all you do, I hope you get rest,

The rest of us, are profoundly blessed.

Encouragement Poems for Women

Hope you enjoy reading and sharing the following two encouragement poems for women. The first one talks is ideal for all those women out there that juggle their career, kids, and social life all at once.

Special Lady

You're a lady with a lot more than fashion,

Understands others and shows lots of compassion.

You're never afraid to persevere,

Placing family, before your career.

Joy is something you always display,

Even when times, are a little bit grey.

Please keep in mind, that you're not alone,

If you wish to talk, just pick up the phone.

I hope you always continue to dream,

You are fantastic, you are supreme.

There's absolutely nothing, you can't achieve,

That's what I honestly and sincerely believe.

The inspiration behind the next encouragement poem came from my mother-in-law Teresa. She's one of those special ladies that is always smiling and greeting everyone that walks by her front yard.

Shining Sign

In front of the house there's a sign,

A genuine smile that knows how to shine

When people walk by, they eagerly wave,

They stop to talk, conversations they crave.

When harsh winters arrive, the sign remains,

Clears the snow, and fights through its pains

Greets every friend and stranger that walks by,

With a warm smile, and a wave in the sky.

They all line up to talk to the sign,

Like it's some kind of sacred shrine.

This sign is special, attracts people like glue,

With a very kind heart, the sign is You!

Poem of Support and Encouragement

The following is a poem of support and encouragement, and could be given to someone that you know that might be going through a really tough time in their life.

Together

I support you one hundred percent,

One-hundred and ten, is what I actually meant.

I'm here for you, whenever you need,

Your expectations I hope to exceed.

Tomorrow is something, together we'll deal,

If pain follows us, together we'll heal.

The actual process may be quite slow,

Through this journey, together we'll grow.

In the end, the challenges we face,

We won't run away, instead we shall chase.

Whatever happens, I know you will win,

To the blue sky, point your proud chin.

Poem of Encouragement for Cancer Patients

I will be honest with you, it wasn't easy writing this poem of encouragement for cancer patients because I needed to make sure that it was very positive, even though cancer is a dark and sad disease.

You Can

Cancer is something that we all fear,

You're not alone, love is near.

It must be very difficult to cope,

Your strongest therapy is your hope.

You have the strength to defeat,

From your head to your feet.

Stick with it, never surrender,

By your side, we're your defender.

Deep inside we sense your power,

Our blessings we'd like to shower.

We're so proud of all that you do,

We know you can, we love you!

I really hope you enjoyed reading these encouragement poems. I also hope that you found one that you really like and you will share it with someone in your life that needs a little bit of encouragement.

I hope you provide your family and friends with plenty of praise, appreciation, and encouragement, whenever they need it most.

Often times, they need it when we least expect it. So let's try to offer it regularly, and I'm sure our relationships will prosper.
