Life, Oh Life.

Hey everyone, this is a song that I wrote over the summer, at the crossroads of becoming 19 and realizing that life's a lot more complicated than I ever thought it'd be. It's about the questions we all have, the paths we choose, and the people we become along the way. I hope you find a piece of yourself in these lyrics. Feel free to share your thoughts and comments. This one's called "Life, Oh Life." Enjoy.

(Verse 1)

Nineteen on the clock, yeah, I'm ticking away

Wonderin' what the future holds, what's the price I'll pay

Momma said, "Life's a game," but it ain't fair, you see

Dad just nodded, whispered, "Son, it's all on you and me"

(Pre-Chorus)

I got dreams in my pocket, fears in my head

Sometimes wish for simple days, tucked away in bed

But I'm here in the battlefield, where angels fear to tread

Oh, I wonder, yeah, I wonder, am I better off or dead?

(Chorus)

Life, oh life, you're a complicated maze

One foot out the door, and you set my world ablaze

A million questions, in my head they raise

But I'll keep on searchin' for the clearer days

(Verse 2)

Scrolling through my feed, see a smile, see a tear

Some people flaunting what they got, others shackled by fear

Everybody says "grow up," but what does that even mean?

Is it a nine-to-five cage, or the end of all my dreams?

(Pre-Chorus)

Life lessons coming fast, but they're hard to read

Got a diploma in my hand, but ignorance guaranteed

It's a world of contradictions, of love and avarice

One moment, you're on top, next you're down in the abyss

(Chorus)

Life, oh life, you're a complicated maze

One foot out the door, and you set my world ablaze

A million questions, in my head they raise

But I'll keep on searchin' for the clearer days

(Bridge)

Maybe life ain't a problem to solve

But a journey to take, where we evolve

From a boy to a man, from a seed to a tree

I'm not just a chapter; I'm my own damn story

(Chorus)

Life, oh life, you're a complicated maze

One foot out the door, and you set my world ablaze

A million questions, in my head they raise

But I'll keep on searchin' for the clearer days

(Outro)

Nineteen and confused, but I've got miles to go

Life's a twisted tale, but it's the only one I know

So here I stand, with hope as my guide

On this never-ending, winding, crazy ride

Life, oh life, you're the song I'll forever sing

A puzzle, a mystery, but you're my everything.

THE END OF CERTAINTY - ALEXIS KARPOUZOS

The end of certainty is not the end of the world, but the dawn of a deeper vision. We believed the earth was solid, the heavens unshaken, the laws eternal and unmoving.

AFTER DEATH - ALEXIS KARPOUZOS

After death, I will not be gone— I will be wind, touching your skin, I will be silence, deep within. The body fades, the name dissolves, But the soul— The soul returns to the rhythm of stars, To the breath before beginnings, To the light that dreams all forms. There is no end, Only a door swinging inward. I become the question and the answer, The seed, the flame, the sky undone. I will not speak, But you will feel me in stillness— When time pauses, And your heart remembers That it too is part of the infinite. Death is not loss, But a returning to source. A merging with the song That sings through all. So do not mourn— I have not vanished. I have returned to everything.
